Someone has actually found the script for my infamous
Star Wars fanfilm on my server, and they actually liked it. They sent it around, and what goes around comes around. A few weeks ago it came back to me with a major seal of approval; from
Lucasfilm itself! (though not directly from George Lucas).
They liked my writing style and ideas and would like me to join the writing team for the new Star Wars live action TV-series coming out later this year. Of course, I can't say much about this with a very strict Non-Disclosure Agreement tying my hands, which also prevented me from telling you about it before the 2nd quarter of 2009. I can give you this little teaser, though. A female bounty hunter who has Force abilities, will get a decent story line outside of my own
Jedi Refugee universe.
Stay tuned for more information as the writing process continues and progresses into production. I'm an open person and always open to suggestions, so if you have any good ideas please leave a comment.

Now that my big California vacation is closing in I've finally been able to finish its prequel; The vacation movie from when I visited New York City in February 2007. There's been a lot of late nights these past days to get it finished, but now it is and I'm very happy with the result.
You can see the result for yourself by downloading the DVD. I've made it available as a torrent, to spread the load, and for more easy sharing between everybody.
The torrent can be found
here, and I suggest a torrent client like
uTorrent (Windows) or
Transmission (OSX) to download the DVD.
Note to close friends and family: You don't need to download since I'll probably come show it to you personally ;)

I can't believe I delayed seeing this movie until now. It was just so extraordinarily, magnificently over-the-top, with clichés hitting you left and right, and an incredible cast of well-known actors put into the lesser parts (
Timothy Dalton,
Jim Broadbent and
Bill Nighy). This flick really made this Friday evening much better than I'd imagined. The movie I'm talking about is, of course, "
Hot Fuzz". If you haven't seen it yet I suggest you go rent it on DVD first thing tomorrow.
Speaking of DVDs, you won't find this movie in
my online DVD database just yet (how's that for a segway). I'm in the middle (strictly speaking I'm far from reaching the middle) of updating said database with more information (since I was stupid enough to make a more elaborate database this time around). I've gotten to the middle of the letter C now, but it's not going fast. Don't expect to find "Hot Fuzz" in the database for several weeks.

The first and second of course being
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and
Wall·E. The third one is the sequel to
Batman Begins;
The Dark Knight.
Everything I've seen from this movie so far looks to be so dark, so exciting... and so gross. We've already seen
Heath Ledger's "Joker" makeup, of course, but there's a new photo making its rounds around the internet of the character "Harvey 'Two Face' Dent" (played by
Aaron Eckhart) and it simply blows me away. Both with amazement at the SFX/VFX makeup and how grotesque it looks. If this is a measure of how good the movie will be, I might have to make it a tie for second most anticipated.

There's a new documentary out now called "
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" (do they fail to see the self deprecating irony in the title?) hosted by '80s Cool Guy
Ben Stein, nonetheless. It deals with how creationist "scientists" aren't being taken seriously by the scientific community.
Any real scientist knows that creationism has no valid scientific marks since the "theory" can't be falsified (which is a major point in any real scientific theory), and they always claim, in the end, that "god did it". Besides, "creationism" is just "Intelligent Design" disguised as another word.
This is all a bit too much for me to delve into, but thankfully there are other people out there to make my life so much easier:

I strongly recommend reading everything on that
site, and please also
link to that
site as much as you can, since it will make it get higher on the result list when people
Google the movie.

Geert Wilders, who is the leader of the
Dutch Freedomparty, has made a short film named "Fitna" that is very critical about Islam, and he released it to the world during a recent press conference. The film has been published on the party's website (an English version can be seen
here).
The Dutch authorities fear riots both in the Netherlands and internationally (with good reason when you look at all the trouble the
Muhammed caricatures made) and I bet there will be loud protests from the Muslim communities around the world.
I have just seen the film myself and felt like I had to comment about it, and what better way to do it than through my new blog :)
